Our Top 10 Baby Books for 2019

We know how hard it is to be a new parent. Being with a baby can be overwhelming and thinking of setting up your baby’s library can be a daunting task. To make things easier, we have made a list of 10 books that you should definitely have to start with.


The list includes lift-the-flap books, black and white books, books that you sing and dance to, puppet books and the much-loved classics.


1. Llama Llama series by Anna Dewdney – We couldn’t pick one since we loved all of them. Join Llama in his rhyming adventures and be sure to fall in love with him.


2. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown – We will never get tired of this beautiful classic. The pace, rhythm, repetition and soothing tone is a perfect way to end the day.


3. Black and White by Jane Foster – This book is great for your baby at the beginning months. The gorgeous intricate illustrations will have you coming back to reread it too.


4. Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle – A favourite with stunning illustrations that kids can’t seem to get enough of. A book that can introduce new concepts like days of the week, healthy eating, counting at a young age.


5. Old Mac Donald had a Farm Puppet book – Sing out the song, move the puppets and soon you will have your baby trying to join in too!


6. Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell – Another lift-the-flap book that kids love as they discover new animals that the zoo has sent.


7. Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton – Make up a tune and sing this book out. Add some funny actions and have lots of fun with your baby!


8. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney, Anita Jeram – Gorgeous watercolour illustrations and a book that you will want to read to you baby over and over again.


9. TouchThinkLearn: ABC by Xavier Deneux– This series stand out for its fresh modern aesthetic and the tactile cut-outs, make it perfect for those tiny curious fingers and have them learn their ABC’s as well.


10. Where is Baby’s Bellybutton? By Karen Katz – A lovely lift-the-flap book that makes your baby hunt for their favourite body part with lots of giggles, snuggles and hugs.
